Film fans take note. Long-time champion of sustainable fashion ELK has started dropping a new Spring Summer collection that pays homage to the escapism and nostalgia of the old Hollywood silver screen as seen through the lens of new Gen-stars.
Silver Screen carries ELK’s hallmark celebration of colour, texture, and bold prints, while offering timeless yet contemporary silhouettes, sculptural jewellery, chic footwear, and bold accessories. All are made from a range of ethically and sustainably sourced materials such as leather remnants and an all new limited edition vegan bag options.
If some of these prints feel familiar, it’s because they pay homage to screenwriters such as Alfred Hitchcock and light artist Olafur Eliasson. The in-house designed Alskar print is inspired by Eliasson’s iconic light design whilst the stunning Vogel print is inspired by one of Hitchcock’s most iconic films The Birds.
“The interplay between fashion and film has always shared such a symbiotic relationship. It has made us more attuned to the ‘telegenic’ qualities in our designs- perfect symmetry, geometric patterns, technicolour hues and an ever-present retro influence,” says ELK Head of Design Amadio Colafella.
“This season we act as directors bringing our vision to life – one in celluloid, the other in fashion. We have mined moments from the silver screen and pinned them to our mood boards, patchworking together a collections of big screen aesthetics. Sit back, relax and get lost in the characters, the scenery and the filmic designs as we share our ‘Silverscreen’.”
For every online order ELK donate $2 to Tree Project who grow and plant Indigenous Australian seedlings, for sustainable re-vegetation.
